The mask is made of wood with a dark, smooth patina.<\/p>\n<p>The Baoul\u00e9 people originate from central Ivory Coast. The Kpan Goli masks are considered the embodiment of life-giving mothers. Unlike the Kpwan Goli Kplin masks, women and children are encouraged to dance and sing with the Kpwan masks during celebrations.
